Description
The injection of Pregnyl is done under the skin or into a muscle. If you don’t understand how to use an injection, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Make sure you know how to mix this medicine with a liquid (diluent) if necessary.
Certain medical tests can be affected by this medicine. Pregnyl should be mentioned to any doctor you see.
Side Effects
Pain at the injection site, headaches, restlessness, and fatigue may occur. Tell your healthcare professional or pharmacist as soon as possible if any of these effects persist or worsen.
Your doctor prescribed this medication because they believe the benefit to you outweighs the risk of side effects. There are few serious side effects associated with this medication.
Symptoms of swelling of the ankles/feet, mental/mood changes (such as depression, irritability), early signs of puberty in boys (such as facial/pubic hair, voice changes, acne) and pain/swelling of the breasts (in boys) should be reported to your doctor immediately.
If you experience abdominal pain/pressure/swelling when using this medication with menotropins for infertility, tell your doctor right away.
If any of these rare but very serious side effects occur while using this medication with menotropins to treat infertility in women: chest pain, difficulty speaking, weakness on one side, confusion, seek immediate medical attention
